Warranty and Service

The SLR Service Centre is located at Mercedes-Benz World. The service team is renowned for its experience and professionalism. All workshop and carbon engineers have graduated from the McLaren Technology Centre or come from the aviation industry bringing together a highly specialised team that is there to support you and your SLR.  The Service Team carries out all repairs both major and minor from paint to carbon, keeping you in touch with progress at every stage of the repair.

As an owner you will build a relationship with the After Sales Personal Liaison Manager who will liaise with you with regards to all Service matters.

The SLR Service team can also offer Race Track Support. From vehicle preparation, technical support during events, transportation and event supervision the SLR Service Team is there to ensure your track day runs smoothly.

New Vehicle Warranty

The warranty is applicable for 24 months from date of registration and covers only the factory fitted components. Also included is consequential damage of covered components.

There is no limit to the number of claims you are able to make during the policy period. The maximum amount claimable during the policy period is limited to the purchase price of the vehicle.

The warranty is a road risk cover only and does not cover track days, off road use, time trials, hire and reward.

Preowned Vehicle Warranty

The period of warranty cover is for 12 months from the date of purchase or 10,000 miles, whichever occurs soonest.

The warranty covers only specific factory fitted components (including labour to fit them). Also included is consequential damage of covered components.

There is no limit to the number of claims you are able to make during the policy period. The maximum amount claimable during the policy period is limited to the purchase price of the vehicle.

Important:
Mechanical breakdown is the failure of a component, causing a sudden stoppage of its function, for a reason other than wear and tear, normal deterioration or negligence.

Damage caused by the effect of overheating is not regarded as a mechanical breakdown under the terms of this warranty.


Other benefits

Vehicle replacement

Mercedes-Benz Warranty Services will pay up to £75 a day [including VAT], for up to a maximum of 7 days in a 12 month period, towards the cost of a replacement vehicle. You can only have a replacement vehicle if your vehicle is being repaired under this warranty and prior authority has been given.

Exclusions:

a] The first 24 hours of any rental period is not covered.

b] You will have to pay for fuel and insurance for the replacement vehicle.

NB - These benefits will not be provided if the failure is not covered by this warranty.
Payments will be limited to those levels outlined.


Claims Procedure

All claims will be submitted on your behalf by the SLR Service Centre in the UK. Repairs carried out by any other repairer cannot be accepted under the warranty.


Service Standards

Failure to comply with the service schedule recommended by Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd may invalidate the warranty.

All service work must be carried out by the Mercedes-Benz SLR Service Centre using only genuine Mercedes-Benz Approved Parts.

Your Mercedes-Benz Service record should be stamped, dated and detailed with the correct mileage at the time of service by the servicing dealer.
